Eco-Clubs
CITW operates these clubs at partner schools in the communities where Wilderness operates. Eco-Clubs give learners a chance to learn about the environment, and develop life and leadership skills.
Eco-Mentor training
This training addresses a critical teaching shortage in eco-education in Africa, upgrading skills of community members, teachers and Wilderness staff.
Annual camps
A Wilderness or partner camp is booked for an educational and fun 4-day course, allowing children to experience the wildlife they learn about during the year.
Scholarships
The Scholarship Programme provides funding for school fees and other school expenses for children who have shown a keen interest in conservation.
Educate
To have the greatest impact possible we have identified three key pillars – Empower, Educate, and Protect – to focus our conservation efforts. Children in the Wilderness is the flagship programme within our Educate pillar and aims to empower the youth of Africa. Learn more about our impact framework below.

Ways to Contribute
Donors have the choice to contribute to general funds, a particular Impact category (Educate; Empower; Protect), or even a specific project. Since our US-based fundraising partner, Empowers Africa, charges only nominal administration costs, and the Wilderness Trust does not charge any fees at all, donors are assured their monies are being spent completely on their chosen component.
